Keep the Indi features
Bigmac64 — Mon, 2008-07-28 23:23Don't cut out the indi movies in favor of shorts. I enjoy catching the flicks that aren't out on DVDs. Always fun, even if the movie isn't that good.
Great show. I like the idea
Bigmac64 — Tue, 2008-05-20 00:43Great show. I like the idea of more shorts, but don't want to sacrifice any of the features. Sure, you can get them on Netflix, but some deserve to be seen on the big screen. For example, the original Dawn of the Dead would look so much better at the Hollywood then on any big television screen.
Don't know if it's possible for you to increase the hours, even by a couple hours, but that would allow for more shorts and (maybe) an additional feature.
Of course, if this suggestion has you screaming and banging your head against the wall, forget I mentioned it. Don't want to cost anyone their sanity.
Expanding...
Festival Director — Wed, 2008-05-28 21:49I will probably add another day (Sunday) or have an afternoon block on Saturday.
I am also looking at the Bagdad as well.

That does bring in the valuable Beer Contingent.
Beer and full service food menu...
Festival Director — Thu, 2008-06-12 22:39This could be a really cool option. I am looking at the final agreement.
Great Time -- Thanks
Undead in Medford — Wed, 2008-05-14 03:43It was worth trip up from Meford to attend the festival. I'm hoping to make it to the HPL Festival in October as well. Thanks for a great time. BTW -- my son was with me and he enjoyed the festival as well.
Looking forward to next year and October,
Glenn

Mail Order Zombie — Wed, 2008-05-14 03:24I'll be talking about the show in Episode 16 of Mail Order Zombie (available this Thursday at http://www.mailorderzombie.com), but I wanted to comment here that I had a GREAT time. I enjoyed the movie selections (I didn't even cringe TOO bad during the soulless "Dawn of the Dead" remake!), and the shorts had some real gems. In retrospect, I think my favorite short was "Landromat", although "It Came From the West" and "Zombie Jesus" were a lot of fun as well.
To sum up the show using the Mail Order Zombie ratings scale, Zompire: The Undead Film Festival gets . . . 5 Headshots out of 5.
my experiences
specialj — Mon, 2008-05-12 22:37I posted my experiences here:
http://lokiloka.com/portland/zompirefilmfestival
I've mentioned elsewhere:
* 2 blocks of shorts instead of 1 (one each night)
* show a few of the best shorts from past years
I had a great time, as did all of the people I brought.
Short Blocks
Festival Director — Tue, 2008-05-13 04:15Thanks for the feedback. We actually had 1.5 shorts blocks a night. Basically the structure per night is:
It is really hard to find quality shorts to fill 300 to 400 minutes. I could have dropped Brain Dead in favor of more shorts, or showed Flick which I think in hindsight may have worked out. Still trying to figure out the balance for the programming.
Thanks.
Shorts!
Edward Martin III — Tue, 2008-05-13 17:40I love the shorts. Features I can usually find on NetFlix or elsewhere, but shorts are rare and wonderful things.
Great show!
